The exposure of blue or bright light during sleep, causes your body to misinterpret its internal clock (circadian rhythm). The body uses this internal clock to determine when it should sleep, and when to wake up. Your brain receives daytime signals from light, which prevents melatonin production. However, if the same happens in the night, it results in difficulty falling asleep, and maintaining sleep throughout the night
